I haven’t much time so I’ll be brief. My name is Tom Jackman and some would say my life was the picture of perfection. I had a loving family, a beautiful wife and spirited twin boys who I adore. We were financially and socially prosperous thanks to the Klein & Utterson Institute where I worked as a research scientist alongside my long time best friend and mentor. It was bliss until the day he revealed himself, my inner demon, if you will. I soon discovered my entire life was a lie, all but my love for Claire, Harry and Eddie. In the end, we survived a bit worse for wear but together. I thought I was rid of him. I was hopeful, naïve, foolish. I should have heeded her words. “It’s never over, Tom.”
And it isn't, because he’s coming.

Post-series story fragment: Tom is sick, possibly dying. Simply stopping the transformations would not have done anything to fix whatever damage had already been done to Tom's DNA.
